Great rooms and great location for a weekend in Door County! I am giving it a 4 due to the horrible parking availability when a wedding is taking place at the resort and the the poor service at the resturant within the resort.
No greetings or salutations it was very cold and unfriendly. Good luck finding a parking space because the restaurant and weddings and bar constantly make it tough if you're just staying there.
Love this clean, nice resort. Nice to have the restaurant and longer on-site. After driving all day nice to enjoy quality food and entertainment without driving again. I will return every year for sure.
We had reservation for 3 for Thanksgiving lunch. Food was good, service was OK. The reason for the one star review is.... When we checked in the hostess said " We have several large groups on the way, you guys will have to be in and out in 20 minutes.". We took the table, and thought that was strange. 15 minutes later our server said "you will have to speed it up", we need to arrage tables for the "Large" group. Why take our reservation? Had we have been told before that it would be a fast in and out, we would have made other plans....... NEVER will we be back.....
There was no information in the rooms. Turns out they were redoing the information but they didn't leave the old information in the rooms while they printed the new booklets.
We were put on the 3rd floor and then the elevator broke so I had to hoof it on the stairs anytime you want to do anything. For as much hype as this location has, It's unbelievable the poor service you find here.
Our carpets in the room had stains on them but over all it was clean. You'll also notice cracks in the tile work and other things that are starting to wear down this location.
It's a nice place. There were two weddings going on when I stayed there; as well as a car show downtown in the city. The view was great; bar was good. Everyone was very nice. However, there is insufficient parking when you have a full hotel an two weddings going on. For the price I paid for my room; I should be guaranteed parking in the parking lot. Because there was no place to park, the front desk attendant told me that I had to park across the street in the public parking ramp. (VERY narrow parking spaces in ramp). Unfortunately, my convertible got a massive door ding because of this. I would recommend hiring someone to valet park cars or making rules about parking.
