Clean, affordable, and conveniently located. The front desk worker (Bobbie) absolutely rocked. She was very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming.
From the moment you enter the lobby and see the lovely decorated fireplace with crackling logs- and friendly check in people-to the free bountiful breakfast buffet with so many delicious options-to the swimming pool and relaxing hot tub where you can look out on the snowflakes as they fall or the warmth of a summer day- to a good nights rest on a comfortable bed in a clean room and all of this in the center of what makes Door County special-you know this is the place you will return again and again. We came to Best Western Sturgeon Bay to celebrate my brother's 59th birthday and had a wonderful time. When we come to Door County we consider this our second home!
Rooms r good size, clean, well made beds, quiet and decent AC. Front desk was cooperative and welcoming. Have decent selections for breakfast from hot omelette to cold yogurt.
Only problem I faced was with reservation, though I got two rooms booked together, the two rooms weren't adjacent because the last names of guests were different!!!
The staff was very helpful in getting my reservation (I had some complications, but they were able to make everything work out). We were pleased with a quiet room on the first floor. Being tired, we welcomed Best Western's wonderful beds and a great shower. Everything was clean. Before leaving, we had a great breakfast served by two wonderful hostesses. It's wonderful not to have to go to a restaurant in the morning before starting on another journey.
For a 3 star hotel, it was exactly as one would expect. We stayed here because it was pet friendly and reasonably priced. We were not disappointed. Although we stayed for only one eveneing, we utilized many of the amenities including the indoor pool and free breakfast on a Saturday morning. As far as having a pet, they seemed to place all pet owners at one end of the hotel which was very convenient. The hotel is also conveniently located and easy to drive to all locations in town. All-in-all it was a very easy stay at a great value.
